Stuart Timmons— along with co-author Lillian Faderman— has masterfully created a significant an insightful historical account of a unique queer community that has its roots in the 19th century and goes as far as 2005. Stuart— one of the first contributors to this site with his hilarious account of Jim Yousling's fabulous life in the early 1980's— including theoretical in a refreshing historical context (pages 254-255) which makes us proud to finally be acknowledged for the creativity that Jim Van Tyne launched upon this community.

Based on the characters from the Lewis Carroll's "The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland" and their experiences, "White Roses Painted Red" follows Alice as she encounters the time-challenged White Rabbit, the menacing Duchess, the elusive Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter, the angry Queen of Hearts, the unhappy Mock Turtle, and the other characters of Wonderland.
